Tom Montanaro, MBA
Tom Montanaro directs the business operations of The Christiana Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery P.A.. He has been in leadership positions for over 25 years in healthcare operations, healthcare consulting, and health plan administration. Tom manages the day-to-day business operations of the practice, develops and administers policies and procedures, manages and mentors staff, analyzes productivity and financial performance, and optimizes technology and workflow to improve operational efficiency. He also leads strategy and planning efforts and manages project initiatives for the practice.
He completed his undergraduate degree in Education at West Chester University and attended Widener University receiving an MBA in Health and Medical Services Administration. He is a member of the Society for OMS Administrators (SOMSA) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Tom is a Delaware native who grew up in Claymont and currently resides in Pike Creek. In his free time, Tom enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys recreational walks, bike rides, and time relaxing at the beach. He also coaches baseball in the Challenger Division of the Newark National Little League, an adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges.
Surgical Team Leader
Ivelys Martinez assigns, coordinates, and supervises the activities and performance of the surgical assistant team. She performs a variety of supervisory and clinical responsibilities to support the patient care mission and objectives of the practice. Ivelys’ priority as our team leader is to ensure that each assistant works in harmony with the surgeon to deliver the highest-quality patient care and that each patient has a comfortable and caring experience.
She manages the surgical staff schedule, coordinates work assignments, and trains all surgical assistants. Ivelys oversees the availability and readiness of the operatories, treatment rooms, and related dental equipment and instruments. She manages, in coordination with the doctors, surgical team compliance to all policies and procedures for patient care, surgical support, instrument sterilization, and medication preparation.
Ivelys has multiple certifications including the Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification (DAANCE), Phlebotomy Technician Certification, Dental Radiation Technician Certification, and Basic Life Support / CPR Certification. Outside of work, Ivelys enjoys spending time with her family and cooking.
